Slice Master: a knife, one button and the timing to get to the end
Slice Master strips an arcade game down to a single input. A kitchen knife spins through a 3D course laid out with apples, watermelons, sponge cakes, cheese and stacks of wooden blocks, and every click or tap throws it forward again. The knife cuts whatever it lands in, the blocks and fruit fly apart, and the cash counter in the corner ticks up. Between the targets are gaps and pink spike strips, and the whole difficulty of the game is judging when to tap so that the blade comes down on the next object rather than in front of it or past it.
The end of each level is a landing board marked x2, x3, x5, x10, x25 and x50. Your cash for the round is multiplied by the zone you stop in, which turns the last second of every level into a separate skill test: the x50 strip is narrow and sits behind the safe zones, so going for it means risking a landing that wipes the round. The cash buys knives from the shop, which are cosmetic. The build on slicemaster.one is the PlayCanvas version of the game served from this domain, so it loads with the page and works on a phone with a tap or on a laptop with the mouse or Space.
Controls & mechanics
| Action | Control | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Flip the knife | Click, tap or Space | Fires the knife forward with a spin; it cuts whatever it lands in |
| Retry after a fall | Click or tap | Spikes and gaps end the run; a tap starts the level again |
| Change knife | Shop button on the menu | Spends run cash on a new blade; looks only, the timing stays the same |
Getting further in Slice Master
- Tap a fraction early: Most failed runs are a late tap: the knife is already dropping when you fire it and it lands short, on the spikes. Firing while the blade is still on its way up gives it a longer arc and puts it on the far side of the gap.
- Chain the short hops: A row of small targets close together wants quick, light taps rather than one big throw. Every object you cut resets your position, so hopping from apple to apple is safer than trying to clear the row in one flip.
- Decide the multiplier before the board: Look at the landing board as it scrolls in and pick a zone. If the round earned little, take the x50 gamble; if the round was rich, put the knife in x5 or x10 and bank it. Landing on the divider is the worst outcome.
Key features
- One input: Click, tap or Space does everything, so the game is the same on a phone and a laptop.
- Multiplier landings: Every level ends on a board of x2 to x50 zones; where the knife stops sets the score for the round.
- Knife shop: Cash from runs unlocks new blades. They are cosmetic, so a cleaver and a katana flip the same way.

Pro tip: The knife's spin rate is constant, so the arc is always the same shape; only the launch point changes. Watch where the blade tip is when you tap on a landing you liked and try to tap at the same point of the spin every time. Consistency in the spin phase is worth more than reacting to each target.
Frequently asked questions
What is Slice Master?
A one-button arcade game by PlayCalm. A kitchen knife spins through a course of fruit, cakes and wooden blocks; you tap to flip it forward, cut what you land on, avoid the pink spikes, and land on a multiplier board at the end of the level.
How do I control the knife?
Click the mouse, tap the screen or press Space. That one action fires the knife forward with a spin; there is no aiming or steering.
What do the x2, x5 and x50 zones do?
They are the landing board at the end of a level. The cash you earned in the round is multiplied by the zone the knife stops in, so a x50 landing on a modest round beats a x2 landing on a good one.
Do the knives in the shop change anything?
No. They cost run cash and change the look of the blade, but the spin, arc and hitbox stay the same. Timing is the only upgrade.
Is Slice Master free and does it work on a phone?
Yes. The game is served from slicemaster.one with no download or account, and the tap control was designed for phones, so it plays the same on a touchscreen and a laptop.
